About The Property

Rowley Cabin can be found nestled in the pine forests distinctive to the Delaware River Valley of upstate New York. This modern take on a classic cabin expertly pulls earthy tones from the landscape, combined with exposed hardwood ceilings, polished concrete floors and clean lines to create an incredibly comfortable weekend escape or full-time abode.

The original one bedroom cabin was built in 2011, while the cleverly constructed addition was completed in 2021. This recent work included a brand new primary bedroom with soaring ceilings, en suite bathroom with a freshly tiled walk-in shower, and a separate mudroom entrance for muddy boots and adventure gear for the wild outdoors.

The house has a simple, airy layout with loads of natural light. The open plan common space features a vaulted ceiling, a wall of windows and ample room for an eat-in kitchen, all anchored by a timeless stone fireplace. The kitchen’s farmhouse sink overlooks the deck and forest beyond. All appliances come with the house and were new in 2011. The house is situated all on one level, with the primary suite, guest bedroom and shared full bathroom just down a brief hallway from the living space. The house has no basement but rather an easy to maintain utility closet in the kitchen. The washer/dryer units are conveniently tucked away in an additional closet also in the kitchen.

The sundeck is accessed through the sliding glass doors off of the living room and will be the focal point of many outdoor dining, grilling, sunbathing and conversations. A stone’s throw from the house is the 12’X12’ outbuilding, great as a studio, workspace or storage. The outbuilding is equipped with electricity but no water/sewer, and it stays cozy in the winter months.

The cabin is set on 5.51 acres backing up to public land. Walkable from the property, the Hickok Brook Multiple Use area will let you get your nature fix in the form of hiking, camping, dog walking, snowshoeing, fishing, swimming and more. Remote, yet just 90 miles from the city, we definitely recommend exploring the region’s essentials and amenities. Escape Brooklyn has some useful guides of nearby towns, Barryville and Narrowsburg, which are good jumping off points when exploring the area. And the local Montessori Homestead School is just five miles from the house.
