About The Property

Big Sky Pond is an impressive property with expansive views and rambling shingled home. The scenic panorama of lush lawn leading down a gentle incline to the large pond, with rolling countryside beyond, is visible from many of the rooms in the house. The swimming pond is about twenty feet deep and has a dock for carefree diving. A screened gazebo at the shoreline is a one of many memorable hangout spots on the property. Set in a field on the other side of the house is a tennis court featuring two basketball nets for potentially endless hoops match-ups.

The shingled house, located between Callicoon Center and North Branch, is at the end of a gravel drive bordered by a large open field and post and rail fence. A separate shingled one car garage also provides lots of handy storage. From the wide entrance foyer, a corridor to one side leads to a guest wing, and includes a built-in bench with storage and serves as a kind of mud room. A staircase in the living room leads upstairs to what is currently used as a TV room. It’s a generous “loft” space, looking down into the living room, and has a full bathroom with shower, allowing it to a double as comfortable overflow space if more than five bedrooms is needed.

There are dynamic views that make this house so special: down over the pond, toward the field to the left, and at over at the stone wall and mature trees and foliage to the right, If you can look yourself away from the scenery, the deck is also a great spot for barbecuing and just hanging out with your crew. There are pretty mowed pathways that run through the property, around the pond, by stonewalls, the little feeder stream and the occasional apple tree.
