Alas the Cottage needed some love, so when the current owners purchased it in 2019, they undertook a major gut renovation, adding goodies like foam insulation, new kitchen and new windows, while maintaining its character.

The kitchen is open and airy, with a cozy built-in banquette for dining and the original wide, porcelain sink. Butcher block counters feel appropriate, and the new refrigerator is behind an integrated door. The owners cleverly converted the built-in ironing board nook into a spice cupboard.

One of the two delightful bedrooms has a closet that serves as a mini home office, with a desk tucked neatly inside, and the full bathroom features a claw foot tub / shower. There is a pine paneled accent wall in the welcoming living room, and in one of the bedrooms. Whitewashed shiplap makes an appearance, as does headboard on the ceiling.

A bijou back deck looks out at a pretty view of rural landscapes and distant hills, reinforcing that whole cottage vibe.
